DETAILED BIOGRAPHY
Jane Shaffer received her law degree from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law (1988) where she concentrated in labor and employment law. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan (1976). Prior to joining Penland & Hartwell, she was a partner with Laner Muchin Dombrow Becker Levin & Tominberg Ltd. where she concentrated on employment and labor issues. For eleven years prior to practicing law, Ms. Shaffer worked for A.C. Nielsen in their corporate human resources department as assistant manager of employee relations.
Ms. Shaffer authored the chapter entitled "Age Discrimination" of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Education, 2000 Edition Employment Discrimination, as well as numerous other articles related to labor and employment issues. In addition, Ms. Shaffer frequently lectures on labor and employment matters.
Ms. Shaffer is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Business & Professional Women, and National Association of Women Business Owners.
